This just in! McCain Defeats Clinton for President! Wait… WHAT?

Well, well, well.

It looks like the McCain campaign has fired up their (clearly broken) time machine, and have launched themselves into the future.

At this page on the McCain website, we find an article written describing how McCain has defeated Clinton in the 2008 Presidential Election. Wow! They did all the work for us... including providing details how he won a campaign that DOES NOT EXIST. Not only are they making up shit, they are making it up IN ADVANCE!

http://www.johnmccain.com/landing/a16.htm

Here is the full text, in case they take the site down... and a .pdf of their site that I made is located HERE.

Republican Senator John McCain was elected president last evening, defeating Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic nominee. McCain's victory came by winning the "red" states that supported President Bush in 2004, while also winning independents to capture the key battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

McCain ran a disciplined campaign that focused on the issues of reforming the culture of Washington and vigorously prosecuting the war on terror. Political experts expressed surprise that McCain was able to wrest the mantle of change away from Clinton, given that she represented the party out of power which normally lays claim to being the agent of change.

Exit polling showed that voters rejected Clinton's health care plan, a central message of her campaign, by a substantial margin because of its heavy reliance on federal government mandates and the inevitable higher taxes and lower quality of care that would result. In contrast, voters gave McCain's plan, which focuses on reducing costs and empowering individuals and families to strengthen the health care system, an overwhelming stamp of approval.

McCain was tireless in arguing that he was the real agent of change in the race. He noted that only he could reform a "culture of tax and spend" in the nation's capitol and contended that Senator Clinton was far more comfortable playing the old game of advocating new government programs, rather than making the existing programs more effective. McCain also benefited from being the more experienced candidate who could best handle foreign policy and fight the war on terror.

In the end, McCain's appeal to political independents enabled him to win key Midwestern battleground states that were thought to be safe for Clinton. Political observers were of the view that in this otherwise difficult political year, McCain had unique appeal to swing voters in these key states. "I'm not sure any other Republican could have won these voters," said network pollster Lawrence Smith...

Ironically there's a photo/link that is scattered all over McCain's website (including this page!) that reads "Help write history!"

bullshit

I was just assuming they meant by donating someone could help fuck over America with 4 more years of neocon policies, but apparently they meant you'd be able to WRITE HISTORY IN ADVANCE!

UPDATE: THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN HAS REMOVED THE PAGE.

AS OF 12:47PM 7/26/2008 IT IS GONE.

CBS covers-up humiliating McCain error, misleads national audience

John McCain, in response to a question from CBS anchor Katie Couric, demonstrated bizarre confusion about the basics of the U.S. surge policy in Iraq.  McCain got the timeline and history of the surge backwards, insisting that the surge prompted the Anbar Awakening, which is the opposite of reality.

Given that McCain is betting his entire campaign on the surge and his expertise, this mistake is arguably the most serious by a presidential candidate in years.

Which is why it’s more than a little odd that CBS News not only edited McCain’s humiliating error out of its broadcast, but even shuffled the interview around to make McCain’s response less ridiculous:

The network showed viewers Couric’s question in full, but instead of airing McCain’s actual response — the one that showed McCain getting the basics of the surge backwards — CBS took a different answer to a different question and pasted it into the broadcast, leaving viewers with the impression that it was McCain’s actual response to Couric’s inquiry.

Why would CBS News cover-up arguably the biggest candidate error of the entire presidential campaign?

Why would CBS News mix-and-match McCain’s responses to make him appear less incompetent?

Why would CBS News broadcast a question but not the answer to the question?

Why would CBS News post the entire actual interview online, making it easy for us to see their mischief?

Why would CBS News deliberately take the most newsworthy element of the interview, and leave it on the editing room floor?

Why didn’t Katie Couric ask a follow-up question seeking clarification?

Around the same time that McCain was demonstrating scandalous ignorance about U.S. policy in Iraq, and CBS News was covering that ignorance up, McCain’s campaign was whining about the media going easy on Barack Obama. What a crock of shit.

Dan Rather lost his CBS job over a lot less than this. But Rather’s piece was one that made a Republican look bad. It’s doubtful that making a Republican look good less bad is as much a hanging offense.

If there is an upside to all this, the inevitable controversy will draw more attention to McCain’s confusion than it might have received if CBS had played it straight. (I’m the eternal optimist.)

There is no goddamn Obama "media bias."  He's just the one that is not constantly fucking up.  Do you really think that they would edit an Obama interview to take out a WRONG ANSWER?  How fucking stupid do they think we are?  Do these corporations think we're still in the 1950's?  This is the information age, motherfuckers.  We're going to find out if you're blatantly lying to us.

The real question is... does anyone out there CARE?  I do.  You should too.

Barack O’Boner (John McCain is senile, pass it on.)

OK.  What happened this week in politics?

McCain talked about the Iraq/Pakistani border and Czechoslovakia.

What's the big deal?  Czechoslovakia hasn't existed for 15 years... and the Iraq/Pakistani border has never existed.  And the media wants us to believe that McCain is more knowledgeable on foreign affairs? Bullshit.

To quote General Wesley Clark:

I think being president is about having good judgment, it’s about the ability to communicate. *** And what Barack Obama brings is incredible communication skills, proven judgment. You look at his meteoric rise in politics and you see a guy who deals with people well, who understands issues, who brings people together and who has good judgment in moving forward. *** Because in the matters of national security policy making, it’s a matter of understanding risk, it’s a matter of gauging your opponents and it’s a matter of being held accountable. John McCain’s never done any of that in his official positions. *** That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded wasn’t a wartime squadron. He hasn’t been there and ordered the bombs to fall. *** I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president.

Either McCain is the worst public speaker in history... or more likely he's senile. Why else would someone flip-flop OVER 60 TIMES in the last 8 years on major policies?

Bush was brainwashed easily by evil neoconservatives because he's an idiot. McCain was actually tolerable until he started to go senile and now the same people who brainwashed Dubyah are volunteering their services to the McCain campaign.

And what has Obama been up to?

Oh nothing... just visiting Afghanistan and Iraq... where the Iraqi prime minister said that he completely agrees with Obama's plans for a 16-month withdrawal of troops.

Why I Love Baseball

Every so often there comes a day where there's a certain sport that just rocks. Today it was one of those days for baseball. Even if you HATE baseball you can appreciate days like this. This is why I love baseball... they have a lot of these days. I think that is why the NFL is so popular. Everyone plays only once a week and it's (pretty much) all on the same day. This makes every Sunday a pretty awesome day to watch the 30-minute segment on Sportscenter multiple times. Anyways, back to today:

Goddamn Cubs. At least this year they finally win the close ones.

Today the Cubs' new pitcher Rich Harden kicked some ass.
(10 strikeouts and 0 earned runs)

He left the game with a 7-0 lead, but the bullpen quickly made sure that he didn't get the win. The Cubs gave up 2 runs in the 8th and 5 more in the 9th.

It was a 7-7 tie until the 11th inning when this happened:

Crazy, eh? This is even better:

The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted the St. Louis Cardinals today.

The Cardinals were just killing them. They were up 10-2 in the 7th. I come back into the room a half hour later and WTF... it's 10-10 in the 9th. Shit!

St. Louis gets a homerun in the top of the 10th. So now they're up 11-10.

Oh Snap!

But wait. Pittsburgh gets a man on the the bottom of the inning.
Bam. 2-run walkoff homerun. Pittsburgh wins 12-11.

St. Louis got 22 hits and lost.

Oh, and A-Rod just passed Mickey Mantle on the all-time homerun list. A-Rod and Madonna are now officially this generation's Mickey and Marilyn. Hey, at least it's not Randy Johnson and Paris Hilton.

PS-  I'm in no way affiliated with American Apparel (or kiddie porn).  They better have permission from Generra, the original geniuses behind the hypercolor.

John McCain hates me! I hate Fox News!

JOHN MCCAIN: “Now we’ve got the cables. We’ve got talk radio. We’ve got the bloggers. I hate the bloggers. We’ve got all kinds of sources of information.”

Hate is a strong word.

I've used it plenty of times, mostly for emphasis when I'm certain I really do hate someone to the point where I don't care who hears it.  My mom still yells at me if I say I hate someone.   Want to bet that this comment will be completely ignored by mainstream media?

Why do you suppose he hates the bloggers?  Maybe because the corporate mainstream media is so RIGHT WING that the bloggers are the only ones left with the balls to ask real questions.  If the mainstream media (TV/radio/etc) was actually so "left wing" as republicans claim, why doesn't he openly hate them too?

Now I don't really hate any media formats... but I do hate Fox News.  It's about as reputable as The Onion nowadays, but it's still good for a political laugh when the Daily Show isn't on.  If you still think Fox News is real news, you just need to remind yourself of their official slogan: "We report.  You decide." Why should the viewer have to make a decision on reported news?  How did "news" get separated from "fact"?  Because as I understand it... there are no decisions to be made about facts.  That's kind of what makes them FACTS. So right up-front, Fox News is telling you that they don't necessarily report facts... they just report what they want to and it's up to us to figure out if it's a fact or not.  This opens the door for people like Rupert Murdoch (the closest thing to a real-life Mr. Burns) to lie to your face and try to pass it as fact.

Don't believe me?  They make it so fucking easy!  Last week they reported a story on their morning show called "Fox and Friends."  During the segment, hosts Steve Doocy (pronounced Douchebag) and Brian Kilmeade labeled New York Times reporter Jacque Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe "attack dogs" for a story they put in the Times about Fox news and how it has lost credibility as well as viewers.  They showed pictures of each Times employee while discussing this... both of which were photoshopped to make the journalists look ugly.  Seriously:

Steinberg

and

Redicliffe

Now I don't really know what the beef between them is, and frankly, I don't care.  What I do care about is this "news" channel being allowed to spew nothing but bullshit and pass it as fact.  I mean, photoshopping  pictures of the people you are mad at to make them have big foreheads and yellow teeth?  Is Fox composed entirely of 5th graders?

I think I get it now.  I'm guessing that if you have already heard about this Fox/Photoshop thing it was on another blog or an internet news aggregator such as reddit.com or digg.com... or maybe you are just now learning about it here on my blog.

No wonder John McCain hates us.  We're the only ones paying attention.

I hate you too, McCain. FUCK YOU, McCain.
